Q114. What care is taken to rectify the light out side the cell
without spreading the contamination?
A. The lights are to be
covered with polythene sheet and on the floor also polythene sheet should be
kept.
Q115. What care is taken in the disposal of the highly contaminated
lamps?
A. For disposal of the lamps they should be
packed and sealed in polythene bag. The tag should be provided.
Q116. What special care is to be taken while providing power supply
inside the cell?
A. Proper earthing should be provided while
giving power supply inside the cell. Extension board should be covered with
polythene sheet.
Q117. What is the order of priority in cooling system in operation?
A. PPCW is having
priority of operation than Secondary PCW.
Q118. How does the failure
of, secondary process cooling water system affects the whole process?
A. Failure of secondary process cooling
water system affects Khosla air compressor’s cooling, this affects whole
process.
Q119. How many systems are inter-connected and what are the safety
interlocks?
A. PPCW is cooled by SPCW and SPCW is
cooling Khosla compressor also. This SPCW pump water is cooled in cooling
tower.
Q120. What is the starting sequence of cooling water system?
A. First SPCW pump is
started. Then Khosla comp. and then PPCW.
Q121. In case power failure
how the transfer of waste liquid take place?
A. Diesel pump is
provided to transfer the waste liquid in case of power failure.
Q122. What type of wiring is
preferable for MUA motors?
A. Conduit wiring and
acid proof cables are preferable in MUA.
Q123. How the power wiring is carried out in such area where
acid/organic spillage is likely?
A. All motors cables are laid to cable
cradle which is above the motors. The prevents the spillage of acid on cables.
A. Motors in MUA are installed on steel
platform. So even though earth is disconnected due to acid spillage, motor body
gets earthing. After availing proper outage, motor foundation screw will be
removed. For safety, nearby motors will be stopped and control room will be
informed ‘not to operated these motors. Decoupling of motor is necessary prior
to remove.
Q125. What care and
precautions are to be observed while working in such areas where
inflammable/hazardous
fumes are encountered?
A. Following cares
should be taken:-
a. Do not work
alone in such areas.
b. Use comfo/gas
mask as per requirement.
c. If exhaust fan
is there, ensure it is ON.
d. Open flame
should not be carried to such areas.
e. Portable
equipments causing spark should not use in such areas.
f. Equipments used
in such areas should be flame proof, fire proof.
Q126. What is the function of OCB?
A. OCB is meant for making, breaking and
carrying normal current and faulty current & to trip the ckt. In case of
fault.
Q127 .What are the equipments
being operated at 1. Unity PF, 2. Leading PF,
3. Lagging PF.
A. 1. Unity PF: Incandescent lamps, resistance
furnace.
2. Leading PF:
Capacitor banks.
3. Lagging PF:
Arc lamps, induction motors, induction furnace.
Q128. What are the procedures
followed during maintenance of switch yard?
A. Generally yard maintenance is done on the
day when MSEB taking shut down on both the feeders which avoids one more
interruption for switch yard maintenance. Line clear permit is taken from MSEB.
After this, GODs of both the feeders are opened and tags are provided. Earthing
switches are closed in FRP yard. Then maintenance of yard is carried out which
including insulator cleaning, lubricating mechanism, applying petroleum jelly
to isolator contacts, tightening connections, collecting oil samples of
transformers, regeneration of silica gel of transformers etc.
Q129. What are the procedures followed to change over power system
during the power interruption in one
feeder?
A. If there is a interruption on feeder No.
4, control room, WIP substation and different authorities are intimated for
interruption. Taking clearance from control room, emergency load will be
shifted to DG, after this OCB is switched off.
Outgoing GOD of OCB is opened and HT bus-coupler is closed. Then again
load from DG is shifted to MP – 15 after clearance from Control room.
Q130. What is the class of power supply generated from DG set?
A. It is class III
supply.
Q131. What are the main objects for providing AMF panel?
A. AMF panel is controlling operation of DG
I,II receiving power from DG 1, II, III and MP-15. AMF panel feeds the supply
to various emergency loads.
Q132. What are the loads feed by DG sets?
A. E2 fans, Off gas fans, power plugs in HB
& LB, glow box vacuum blowers, WOG 1 & 2, I/F pumps, lift, telephone
exchange, NMSF lights, Parkinson air compressor, Emergency station battery
charger, criticality monitor, hand checking monitors, stack lights, control
transformers in control room, WTA lights.
Q133. What are the loads feed by the DG set when only one DG set is
in operation?
A. Following loads are
cut when one DG is in operation:-
Control transformer
in control room, all power plugs in HB, glow box vacuum blower, HP
annunciation alarm
in control room, WTA I & II.
Q134. What are objects for installing station battery?
A. Station battery is the last and reliable
power source used for exit lights and as control supply for tripping system. It
is class I supply.
