Continued ....................
Q74. What procedure is followed for disposing waste bags?
A.     Waste bags should be sealed properly. Then it should be disposed in waste transit area.

Q75. What will you do if criticality monitor gives alarm?
A.    If criticality alarm is there then one should come out of plant immediately with shortest route without using lift keeping handkerchief on nose and has to gather in Low block near entrance hall and to report supervisor.

Q76. Describe all health physics instruments.
A.    Portable Monitor, Hand monitor, CAM – Beta, Pu counting monitor, Area Gamma monitor, WRGM (wide range Gamma monitor), Criticality monitor, Survey monitor, Tele-detector, Beta dose-rate meter, Alpha & Beta counting system, Dosimeter, TLD.

Q77. What does a tag on waste bag indicate?
A.     Tag has numbersRHC-5, RHC-6, RHC-7.
RHC – 5
WHITE TAG
Less than 20 mr/hr, Beta & Gamma
RHC – 6
YELLOW TAG
20 to 200 mr/hr, Beta & Gamma
RHC - 7
PINK TAG
More than 200 mr/hr, High Alpha

Q78. How maintenance waste is packed?
A.     As per answer of Q.74

Q79. How liquid waste is handled?
A.     High activity liquid is shielded in lead cask for low activity, it is kept in carboy, PVC bag, proper tag is provided by HP. It is also handled as per instruction of HP.

Q80. How will get adequate decontamination  of liquid spill?
A.     Moping of liquid from low activity area to high activity area is done by using water and detergent till contamination is coming up to permissible level.

Q81.  If TLD of worker falls in radiation area, what will you do?
A.      TLD loss will be immediately reported to HP.

Q82.  Why monitor are placed on condensate headers?
A.    Monitors are placed at steam condensate headers for detecting accidental release of activity to the   condensate. EJC – GM are placed to detect failure of evaporator.

Q83.  What action is to be taken if this monitor gives alarm?
A.   Steam pushing through condensate headers should be stopped. Individual are monitored for contamination and replaced. Also the transfer of liquid wasted to HUT should be stopped, faulty equipment is to be isolated.

Q84.  What is CRPC panel? What does it show?
A.    CRPC: Central Radiation Protection Console. It gives radiation level and air activity level in specified area. Panel is located in control room. (Gamma monitor, CAM, Criticality monitor)

Q85.  What is the specialty in the light fittings that they are not manufactured in India?
A.     These fittings are water tight and glass fittings can withstand water pressure. These are provided on 110V supply which is safe compared to 230 V.

Q86.  How the lamp is prevented from the reaction of contaminated water?
A.     As the lamp fixture is water tight, contaminated water cannot enter in the fixture.

Q87.  How the halogen lamp is cooled?
A.    Heat generated by the halogen lamp is absorbed by the metallic fixture and it is absorbed by pond water.

Q88.   Can the lamp be removed out of the fuel pond when it is in ON position?
A.       Pond light cannot be removed out of the fuel pond when it is in ON position.

Q89. What sort of lamps are used in radioactive liquid sampling blister?
A.      There are two types of lamps. 1. Halogen, 2. HPMV.

Q90. What are the supply voltage and capacity of these lights?
A. 1. Halogen – 250 W, 32 V           2. HPMV – 125 W, 250 V.
Q91. At what height the aviation lights are situated?
A.     Aviation lights are situated at top stage 125 mtrs, third stage 95 mtrs & Second stage 65 mtrs.

Q92.  What is the supply voltage?
A.      230 VAC.

Q93.  How these lights are controlled automatically?
A.      These lights are operated by photocell.

Q94.  How many lights are there totally?
A.      18 lights (9 fixtures containing 2 lights in each)

Q95.  What is the necessity of these lights?
A.       These are aviation signal lights.

Q96.  What type of illumination is provided in dissolver cell?
A.      HPMV lamps are used in dissolver cell for illumination.

Q97.  How the light is mounted inside the cell?
A.    Fixtures are amounted on cell wall on the blocks which can be removed for bulb replacement / rectification.

Q98.  Can the radioactivity seen through these light fittings?
A.       No.

Q99.   How these lights rectified?
A.       Lights can be rectified by removing the holder blocks.

Q100. Are there any power point, inside the cell?
A.       No, there is not any power point inside the cell.
