Annexure-1
1. Technical
specifications for Electrical System
1.1 Applicability
Applies to electrical power supply systems.
1.2 Objective
To ensure the availability of electric power supply
for safe operation of the plant.
1.3 Specifications
1.3.1
Class-IV power supply
At least one out the two nos.,
33 KV feeders will be available before start of the campaign. In case of outage
on any one of the feeders, the same will be made available within one month.
In case of major faults in 33KV
switchgear, transformer, 415V L.T. switchgear, L.T. cable or bus duct, the same
will be rectified and will be made available within one month.
1.3.2
Class-III
power supply
1.3.2.1 Out of the two nos., 1000 KVA DG-sets, one
DG-set will always be available. If
any DG set goes out of service, it
will be made available for operation within 7 days. However, at start of the campaign, both DG sets
shall be available.
1.3.2.2 Minimum stock of 2500
liters of diesel will always be available.
1.3.2.3 During class-IV power supply restoration, parallel operation of DG set
with grid
is not envisaged.
1.3.2.4
Single Air compressor system is
provided on class-III power supply. To ensure
the readiness and availability of emergency compressor system, it will
be
periodically checked for its healthiness.
1.3.2.5 ‘Specific fuel consumption’ of both DG sets
will be measured on annual basis.
1.3.2.6 At least one
Aviation Warning Light above 45 m height of stack level shall be available.
1.3.3 Class-II
(Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) System)
One unit of 230V, 50 KVA A/C
single phase, seismically qualified UPS power supply will always be available.
If any UPS goes out of service, it will be made available for operation within
7 days. However, at start
of the campaign, both UPS sets shall be available.
1.3.4 Class-I
(D.C. Power Supply)
At least one battery bank will
be always kept in charged and healthy condition. In case of outage of any
battery bank, the same will be made available within 72 hours.
1.4 Basis
1.4.1 Plant’s
simultaneous maximum demand of 2455 KVA and connected loads of 3600 KVA are
required to be met for normal operation. The simultaneous maximum demand of
2455 KVA can be met by any one of the two 33KV feeders.
1.4.2 Class
III power supply is provided by DG sets. Rating of each DG set is such that
100% emergency loads can be started and fed even by one DG-set.
1.4.3 The
DG-sets are provided with 2 nos. of fuel day-tanks of 2500 lt. capacity each. A
provision of 2500 lts. of diesel stock will ensure operation of Off-gas blowers
and exhaust (E2) fans for about 10 hours and with both day tanks, if kept
filled up, these equipments can be run for a period of about 24 hours. That
will provide sufficient time for arranging additional stock of diesel, as
needed.
1.4.4 Under
the black-out conditions, class-II UPS system is necessary for nuclear
instruments, communication systems, essential lighting etc.
1.4.5 Exit
lights need uninterrupted DC power supply, which can be fed by any one of the
two DC battery banks.
1.4.6 110V
DC control supply is required for operation and trip function of class-IV &
class-III breakers.
